Summary:
Mobile phone company, Orange, have created a t-shirt which can charge your mobile phones, using the noise of the festival. This new technology is based on "piezoelectric film". Basically, the vibrations of the music are turned into electrical voltage, which is thin enough to be woven into a cotton shirt. This energy is stored in a battery, which has an USB cable connected to it so you can charge your phone.
An Orange spokesman said they decided to chose a t-shirt because it's an every item that people will have on them, so they don't need to carry around an extra bag or anything.
Unfortunately, despite Glastonbury being one of the noisiest festivals, there might not be enough vibrations to gain an enourmous amount of energy, enough to charge your phone.
But this is not the first time Orange has created a battery charger for festivals... For last year's festival, Orange produced wellington boots with chargers in the heel, which gained energy from walking. The year before they made small, portable windmills for generating power.
Personal opinion:
I didn't even know this was possible! I think it's a brilliant idea, but apparently the t-shirt don't hold that much energy, so you might not even be able to fully charge your phone. I think it'd be better if they just put Orange boots everywhere, so people can leave their phones there, Orange charges them for you and you can pick them up later. But still, it's a pretty awesome idea. I heard somewhere that this t-shirt will get released over the weekend, so maybe they can still improve the shirts before they release them.

Cool idea! Despiten it not being able to fully charge your cellphone up I think it's better then nothing as you generate the electricity by yourself! They should actually try to apply this kind of technology in the average day of life so they can make the world just a little bit more selfsuficient!
