At least 10 schools have to close down, but four ones are being rebuilt to improve education for youngsters. No actions are being taken at the moment, this is all just a thought. The teachers union say jobs might be a risk with schools closing because 10 schools obviously need a lot more teachers than four do. The financial pressures imposed upon secondary schools in Powys have been a significant issue for several years. The council has drawn up four options: create sixth form centres, keeping two of the schools open while two bilingual learning centres would be created, option three is to built two centres of excellence, but up to four schools would have to close for this.
Personal opinion:
I think the article lacks information, like what kind of condition these schools are in at the moment. You can’t really form an opinion this way, because of course you don’t want schools to close down cos it costs an awful lot to rebuilt them, but also because the pupils are probably happy at their current schools.

They are making 10 schools close down? That is preposterous! Luckely for now it's just a plan and I really hope that they will not decide to execute this plan as that would be a big mistake. You need teachers to educate your children you should treat them with great respect and humility as these people do a job that not everyone can do. If 6 schools are shut down since 4 are being replaced, you will have a lot of teachers without a job. Is that really how you would like to treat the backbone of your nation?
